英国製スーパーカーディーラーを訪問した。
昨年１２月にちょっと覗いて以来、２度目の訪問。
目的は、スポーツシリーズの展示車がやってきたということで
それを見ること。
店内へ入ると、受付嬢が立ち上がってあいさつしてくれ、
「お待ちしておりました！」って笑顔で。
ここはApple Storeか！ とツッコミたくなるほど、
ここのディーラーは本当に対応が良い。
スポーツシリーズは、僕の希望のオニキスブラック
だったこともあって、めちゃくちゃにカッコいい…
写真より実写の方がいいですよ、と聞いていたのだが、
まさにその通り。ワイドで低く構え、ランボルギーニを
連想するほどカッコよかった。
隣に並べてあるスーパーシリーズやMP４が
正直、野暮ったく見えてしまうくらい、
スポーツシリーズはカッコいい。
入門用とかエントリーモデルって雰囲気はなく、
スーパーなオーラが出てる。
実車をよく見ると、本当に空気の流れを考えて
設計されているのがよく分かる。すごく凝った、
複雑な形をしている。
ディヘドラルドアを開け、座らせてもらう。
スーパーシリーズと比べると、ドア直下のスペースが
広くなっており、乗り込みやすい。
中もいいね、まさにスポーツカーだ。
オーディオなども凝った造形。
すっきりシンプルなステアリングも好印象。
計器類は液晶化され、今風だね。
Fトランクは全然ないかと思ったら結構ある。
ブロンプトンはラクショーで積めそうだ。
トランクを閉める時、いつも完ぺきな所作の
セールス氏が、電光石火でおしゃれなハンカチを
取り出し、ボディに直接触れないように閉めているのを
見て、卒倒しそうになった。そっか、ハンカチは
このように使うものなのだな… まいった。
いろいろと納期やメンテナンス費用、
オプションや納車時の細々としたについても
判明した。
どれも説明が明快で、納得できる内容であった。
なるべくたくさん高額なオプションをつけさせようと
いう感じもなかった。生産前であれば、オプションの
変更はもちろん、ハンドル位置などなども
変更しても大丈夫とのことだった。
見積もりをもらって帰る。
スポーツカーといえど、ソフトクロージングドア
などのオプションもあるのには驚いた。
面白かったのは、こちらから特にお願いしたわけじゃない
のに、推奨オプションとしてレーダー探知機が計上されて
いたこと！ 聞かなかったのだが、どのように取り付け
されるのだろう…
まさかダッシュにポン置き？じゃないよね？
これを買ったら、人生が変わるインパクトが
あるのは自明の、スーパーなマシンだが、
果たしてどうなるか…
人生貪欲に、ステージを上げていかないと
いけない、という気もするし、
もっと他のことで上げるのもあり、とも
思うし。
